Sky Glass??

I’m on the old sky package, pre-Sky Q, not much recording space, only two recordings at a time etc…have been told I can’t have Q due to health & safety/where my dish is (long story).
So…is this Sky Glass thing worth it? No dish required and all the benefits of Q at what doesn’t seem a lot more than I’m currently paying. Not sure how big it is, my screen is 50in-ish.
Oh and I did wipe my knob on the old box but it didn’t help.

I think they are now just bringing out a little box/dongle type thing by itself- so just get that and don't bother with the TV aspect.

El Scorchio, its called Sky Stream, my parents have got it. Just a few little puck like devices so no need to pay through the nose for a sub-standard and overpriced tv

Anyone I know who has it says it's shit. Worst part is you get the same delay you do watching a game on a stream, as that's effectively what it is. Better off getting one of those dodgy sticks that give you all the channels for £80 a year.

You can’t record on Sky Glass it streams directly like Netflix/Amazon etc…
Is there anywhere your dish can be moved to? Or are you on a Communal system? (Shared dish)

Forget that last question - they would have offered an alternative if possible.
I would recommend getting Sky Stream as it is only a rolling 30 day contract and you can keep your existing TV

The picture quality in UHD on Sky Stream is better than Sky Q, but, as Niblets says, the delay versus live can be ridiculous - up to 2 minutes.
Will stick with Q as I like to be able to record stuff still, but fully appreciate I’m an old dinosaur and will have to adapt when that option goes away.
Also, nod to Eerie for that gag

Got it when it first came out. Had it on for an hour and packed it back up and sent it back.
Absolute shit.
Picture quality is nowhere near as good as my tv which was a top of the range one 6 years ago plus you get a bit of motion blur with it.
Good idea done on the cheap.

Dump… just give them a ring and say that you are threatening to leave… you’ll get a discount on what you are currently paying and they will upgrade you with a brand new Q box FoC… done it with myself and load of others I know… including some of my MATES…

Do you have a 10 foot barge pole? if so use that to not touch it. The fact Sky are practically giving them away tells you its shite. It has no live TV so you are practically your own programme scheduler, so no ability to record. you can't even use Freeview through it, Sky only allow it if they have a problem and cannot stream anything to your screen. If you choose to leave Sky I do not think you'd be able to connect a Virgin or BT TV box to it and use it like a TV.

Cheers for the replies. I did have Q on order but the engineer bowled up and said new health and safety rules meant he wasn’t allowed on a flat roof. Absolute shambles to be honest, it’s a piece of piss to put a ladder up and get on there.
Back to square one. Bollocks and fuck.
